More about the Radiohead Jazz Project
Inspired by the project of the same name created by Lawrence University in Wisconsin, The Toronto Jazz Orchestra teamed up with Idioteque - Toronto's best Radiohead tribute band - to present the city's first ever Radiohead Jazz Project in December, 2011 at The Rex Hotel. The TJO presented two sets of Radiohead music arranged for big band; Idioteque then performed one long set of note-for-note reproductions of Radiohead repertoire. It was a smash success - the standing-room-only audience cheered, danced and sang along.
The Radiohead Jazz Project is now a regular part of the Toronto Jazz Orchestra schedule, and has spurred the creation of new arrangements by a variety of Toronto composers - including new arrangements of the entire OK Computer album - commissioned in part by generous TJO supporters.
We thank the following supporters for their commissioning help:
Marcia Zuker and Jeffery Barnes
Elaine and Peter Gold
Sharon and Larry Grossman
Raymond and Rochelle Koskie
Ron and Gail Zuker
