Announcing 20 - a new CD from the Toronto Jazz Orchestra

Since 1998, the Toronto Jazz Orchestra has been producing some of the most exciting big band concerts in the city. In 2018, we’ll turn 20. And to celebrate, we’re recording a new CD.

From May 26 to 28, we’ll head to Revolution Recording, one of Toronto’s top studios, along with the outstanding support team of producer Roberto Occhipinti and engineer John “Beetle” Bailey, to record 20 - an album which aims to capture the evolution of the band over the past 20 years.

But 20 is also a deeply personal project. When I started the band in 1998, I wanted to perform repertoire which an audience wouldn’t hear anywhere else. And now, for the first time in nearly 20 years, I have a body of my own work - original compositions and arrangements - which I feel is ready for the recording studio.

The Ontario Arts Council has supported the project with a recording grant, and while the grant is generous, it’s not quite enough to get it all done. You can help to raise the funds required to complete the recording.

We've created a fundraising campaign at Fund What You Can, with the goal of raising $10,000 towards the in-studio portion of the project. Please join the campaign today: pre-order a CD, join us in studio or invite us into your home for a private concert - any contribution helps.

We appreciate the consistent support you've shown the Toronto Jazz Orchestra for nearly 20 years, and hope you'll contribute "one more once." With your help, we can be sharing the excitement of a new CD soon.
